BORDERS: The UK is located in the north-west of Europe. It comprises two thirds of the island of Great Britain. England is bordered with Scotland in the north and with Wales in the west. It is also near France on its southern part; as well it is bordered with Ireland in its western side.
CLIMATE: England has a great variety of weather because it is surrounded with water. As there is such a variable weather it can change from one day to another. In general there are warm summers (no more than 32ºC) and cool winters (no less than 0ºC). What most influences the weather? 1. Proximity to the Atlantic ocean. 2. The northern latitude. 3. Warming of the waters around the land by the Gulf Stream.
POLITICS The Uk is a unitary democracy, governed with the framework of a constitutional monarchy, the king (in this case Queen) is the head of the state. The prime minister is the head of government.
