* Fire needs Oxygen to burn objects. When all the oxygen is used up in the chemical reaction then the reaction stops thus you have no flame and that is why the flame goes out but why does the water come up?
* Candle & Water Candle & Water
* The candle flame heats the air in the cup, and this hot air expands. Some of the expanding air escapes out from under the vase — you might see some bubbles. When the flame goes out, the air in the vase cools down and the cooler air contracts. The cooling air inside of the vase creates a vacuum. This imperfect vacuum is created due to the low pressure inside the vase and the high pressure outside of the vase. We know what you're thinking, the vacuum is sucking the water into the vase right? You have the right idea, but scientists try to avoid using the term "suck" when describing a vacuum. Instead, they explain it as gases exerting pressure from an area of high pressure to an area of low pressure.
* A common misconception regarding this experiment is that the consumption of the oxygen inside of the bottle is also a factor in the water rising. Truth is, there is a possibility that there would be a small rise in the water from the flame burning up oxygen, but it is extremely minor compared to the expansion and contraction of the gases within the bottle. Simply put, the water would rise at a steady rate if the oxygen being consumed were the main contributing factor (rather than experiencing the rapid rise when the flame is extinguished)

* When the candle goes out the water will rise because of the pressure in the glass decreased compared the pressure around the glass and water. * The atoms are moving really fast this can be seen in the heat waves above the candle. * Air bubbles can be seen escaping the glass jar due to the expanding volume of energized atoms.. * When there are more atom in one place and less in another place unequal pressure is experienced…the outside pressure is more and is pushing on the water causing the water to go up
* A know fact is atoms always move from high pressure to low pressure areas. * There is a high pressure, more atoms outside the glass jar, after the candle burns out and there is low pressure inside the jar
* When atoms move fast they will create energy which can be measured by heat. * When solids turn to liquids the atoms move further apart, then liquids get more energy the atoms move so fast the liquid turns to gas. * Gas molecules need room to move thus expanding the required volume in the glass.. * When molecules move from one place to another they create areas of pressure differences. * Pressure difference always cause atoms to move from a high pressure to a low pressure. * The outside water and air had more pressure ( more atom) because the heated air inside the jar had to expand as the atoms were given more energy.
