Smith’s Aerospace © P. Bailey & K. Vander Linden, Facilitation Session Purpose The session will produce a document expressing the concerns and recommendations of the developers who attended the training about the future value of using UML and Rhapsody at Smiths along with specifics on how to go forward.

Smith’s Aerospace © P. Bailey & K. Vander Linden, Specific Objectives ● Additional features of Rhapsody (i.e. full end- to-end application development) will be briefly reviewed. ● Developers will identify the strengths and weaknesses of UML in regard to existing and future development. ● If developers believe Rhapsody has value to Smith, a recommendation on how to proceed will be produced.

Smith’s Aerospace © P. Bailey & K. Vander Linden, Agenda and Ground Rules ● Facilitators will ask leading questions and explore comments, but will remain neutral. Any comments in regards to UML or Rhapsody will only be in the nature of providing information. ● Initially, all opinions of strengths and weaknesses will be recorded without criticism or extensive discussion. ● Break out groups will be organized to arrive at a consensus on the lists created.

Smith’s Aerospace © P. Bailey & K. Vander Linden, Going forward … If the consensus is to explore UML and Rhapsody further, the facilitators will provide an overview of known best practices in implementing new tools in an organization. The developers will determine a recommendation with specific guidance on the continued training, approach for implementation and supporting roles.

Smith’s Aerospace © P. Bailey & K. Vander Linden, Facilitators Final Requirement The facilitators will produce a draft of the recommendations, which will be forwarded to the participants for review. It will then be provided to Smiths management.
