VESTINE’S BIOGAS UNIT PROVIDES HER WITH A SMOKE-FREE COOKING ENVIRONMENT

Milk brings protein to the diet significantly improving a family’s health A litre of milk sells on the local market for 200 Rwandan Francs (equivalent to about 20p) A widow can sell between 10 litres (£2) and 15 litres (£3) per day allowing her to pay for her children to go to school as well as dramatically improving living standards Between 70% & 80% of Rwandans earn less than.80p day Biogas from the manure stops wood & charcoal burning, reducing respiratory diseases and preserving the dwindling wood supply Manure from the cow dramatically improves the family’s crop yields providing an additional 40p - £1 per day TO PROSPERITY FROM POVERTY
