Moodle Assignments Going digital!

Assignments Allow you to provide assignment instructions Take in digital work Return grades & comments to students privately students when work is graded Record time and date turned in Can even use rubrics! Can be found under the Add Activity menu

Assignment Types 5 main types: 1.Offline 2.Online Text or Journal 3.Upload Single file 4.Advanced uploading of files 5.Turnitin.com plagiarism checker AudioRecorder allows students to record MP3 and turn them in Journal is easier to grade than Online Text

Offline & Online Text Offline Text not used much Use to provide instructions and return grades Online text great for short written work Very easy and quick to read and grade Students type assignment right into Moodle Box for grade and comments from teacher

Upload a Single File Allows student to turn in a digital file (< 24mb) Box for grade, comments and link to download file for teacher A bit slow to download one by one, no way to return file

Advanced uploading of files Students can turn in multiple drafts or files Teacher can reupload edited files along with grades and comments (several times) Can decide when a version is the final submission

Using Rubrics & Grading Moodle allows you to create and assign rubrics for each assignment Students see grade for each rubric section Great for MYP work and keeping kids up to date Can reuse your rubrics & are shared with all teachers Must choose when you set up an assignment

Turnitin.com Student work is submitted to Turnitin.com Checks for plagiarism against Internet, paper database, and online publications Teacher can download files to grade No place to return comments or grades
