South Bay Stand Down ■Peacetime Stand Downs give homeless Veterans one to three days of safety and security where they can obtain food, shelter, clothing, and a range of other types of assistance. ■They can access health care, benefits counseling, information regarding housing, employment, and substance abuse treatment, as well as legal, child support, and DMV services.

South Bay Stand Down ■The first Stand Down was held in San Diego in 1988, and since then Stand Downs have been held nationwide. ■The last South Bay Stand Down in 2009 was a great success, serving over 170 homeless Veterans with the help of over 380 staff and volunteers.
