COLIN RUNNELS ZERO

HECTOR ZERONI (ZERO) Zero lived in a homeless shelter. One day he had seen a pair of shoes. But these were very different shoes. These shoes were worn by famous baseball player Clyde Livingston. He was arrested the day after he was found. This is where he takes the shoes and throws them away, landing on his soon-to-be best friend, Stanley. At Camp Green Lake, Zero was mistreated. He was called stupid, and the only person he really talked to was Stanley. He said he liked digging hole, and he even dug some of Stanley’s holes to get reading lessons. He ran away later in the story after he hit Mr. Pendanski in the face with a shovel. Stanley had ran away as well to find them. They returned and kept digging in a hole and found a chest. They were then caught by the Warden, Mr. Sir, and Mr. Pendanski. When they picked up the chest, many yellow- spotted lizards crawled all over the two boys. Soon, they were able to crawl out with the chest. On the chest said, “Stanley Yelsnats”. Stanley was released and was able to take home Zero because his file had been deleted. They became rich. Zero finally found his mother, and they became rich as well because of the chest, Zero’s family and Stanley’s familey then became neighbors.

WHY? I chose Zero to go with the shovel because of him liking to dig holes. I thought it was kind of interesting that he liked to dig holes. Even a bit ironic since he was at a camp that made him dig a hole everyday. That is why I chose Zero.

THE RELATIONSHIP Zero liked to dig holes. And of course he used a shovel to dig all of his holes. But Zero didn’t just use the shovel to dig holes, he also hit Mr. Pendanski in the face with it as well.
