The Coliseum Rome, Italy March Break 2004 Ms. Ripley

The inside of the coliseum, the underground part of the coliseum. There used to exist tunnels for gladiators and tigers!

A magnificent spectacle, even if the marble has been stripped.

Imagine what it would be like to have been there in the active day!

What the wooden floor would have looked like. One half is exposed to show what was like under the floor.

Imagine sitting on a marble seat that has your name on it! Do we have that in our hockey arenas?

The Coliseum from the outside.

Surrounding the Coliseum Rome Rome March Break 2004 Ms. Ripley

An enormous wall surrounds the city.
