Types of Searches Directory Search Keyword Search

Directory Search Directory search is like looking through a table of contents to find information about a subject. This type of search is best when you are not exactly sure what you are looking for, but just have a topic. Activity – Find information about cats on Kids Click

2. Effective searching depends on Keywords (choosing them thoughtfully produces the best results) Objects are better than Actions (who, what, where, when and why are better than how) Proper Nouns and Numbers are the most powerful Keywords Key Word Search

1.The first thing you find is probably not the information you need. 2.Information at the top of the list is not always the best. 3.The information you find may not be accurate. 4.You may find inappropriate information. Things to Know

* You enter the words you think will be in the documents you seek. * The search engine finds the webpages in its index that exactly match your words. * You review the search results to see if your words found the information you hoped for. * If your search words didn't match, you revise your words and try again.
