SOMERSET ASA DEVELOPMENT PLAN 2015/16

DEVELOPMENT PLAN

 ASPSC Network have received the full funding for 2015/16 having delivered on all aspects of their Development Plan  ASPSC were named Club of the Year 2016 at the recent ASA Aquatic Awards and they acknowledged the part Somerset ASA played in their receipt of this award. NETWORK DEV FUNDING

 Officials – courses for J1, J2, J2(s) and Referee are run on a regular basis VOLUNTEERS

 Young Volunteers programme very popular with 25 signed up for this year’s programme from the following clubs: VOLUNTEERS

 BURSARIES – these have been very sought after this year and as a result we are over budget, but have been able to absorb this due to an underspend on the Development Funding budget  4 x Level 2 Teachers  2 x Level 2 Coaches  1 x Level 2 Open Water Coach  6 x Level 1 Teachers  YOUNG COACH PROGRAMME – this is not being run by the Region this year. WORKFORCE

 Two applications this year 1. Burnham on Sea – application for funding towards 4 new lane ropes required to replace current disintegrating ones at Brean Splash. £750 awarded. The club have recently announced further funding from Sedgemoor District Council and with their own fund- raising four new lanes ropes will soon be installed! DEVELOPMENT FUND

 2. Frome Swimming Club Frome have recently been forced to source a new pool for their Learn to Swim sessions. They applied to Somerset for funding towards lighting required for a school pool which they could use, but had no lighting for the winter months. SASA agreed to fund £500. With additional funding from other sources, including a contribution from the club, the pool is now fully lit! DEVELOPMENT FUNDING

 Complete the simple application form available on the website  Applications will be assessed by the panel  Decision will be communicated  Provide a report once the project is completed HOW DO WE APPLY FOR DEVELOPMENT FUNDING?

 Anything that aids the development of the club or the network covering the following areas:  Governance  Athlete Development  Pathway Development  Workforce Development WHAT CAN WE APPLY FOR?

SO IN SUMMARY …. TT O DATE WE HAVE: PP rovided funding for ASPSC Network of £2,500 PP rovided financial support for Officials training WW ill be supporting 25 Young Volunteers through YV programme PP rovided £1,050 bursary funding for teaching/coaching AA warded a total of £1,250 from the Development budget for two worthy projects
