Organization is KEY! All worksheets have a letter and a number. Binders are checked during each quiz/test. Students earn a quiz grade. Worksheets in the classroom. Absent/Lessons
Materials Required Shared Binder (Science, Math, Social Studies) Many students switch to an AM/PM binder Loose-leaf paper Pens and pencils Colored pencils Agenda book Students MUST come to school prepared!
Absentee Guidelines Students are responsible for obtaining the missed assignment and for completing within 5 school days. Grades will reflect assignments that are not handed in to the teacher. Check for assignments/homework on the Hauppauge Website.
Grading Policy: Each student’s grade will be calculated according to: Quiz grades, test grades, homework grades and article reviews. Article reviews, projects and homework are all graded like a quiz. Test grades are counted TWICE. Tests do not need to be signed. All grades are posted in portal. Progress Sheets Sign up for IC in Room M-12
Homework is given every night Monday-Thursday. Students must use their agenda book to record homework. All students begin each quarter with a 100 homework average. For every homework assignment missed students will lose 5 points from their homework average. (Students can earn 2 points back if they make up the work and return the next day). ZAPPED- Zeros Aren’t Permitted If you have trouble with the homework, you must show that you tried your best!
Music Lessons: If a students is going to miss class for a lesson they must: Check in with me to get any HW assignments for the day and to hand in your homework. Come in and copy classwork and homework board. Complete any work from that day. Be ready for the next day’s class.

EXTRA HELP Every TUESDAY at 7:30 a.m. Students may use this time to catch up on missed work, organize your Science Binder, review material, and receive extra help in Science concepts.
Science Fair Project The project is not mandatory…but it is suggested. If students would like to be recommended for the Accelerated Science program they must meet the following requirements: Earn a 90% average in Math or 85% in Acc. Math Earn a 95% average in Science
Important Dates to Remember Projects must be submitted by December 19, Science and Technology Fair is on Wednesday, January 3, 2013.
