Land Area Map – This is a “regular” map. You will need this map as a reference for the rest of the maps. The colors on the countries will stay the same. As the maps (aka cartograms) change, use your atlas and this map to figure out which country is which.

Tertiary Education Cartogram – Tertiary education is also known as post- secondary education. It is education beyond high school – college, university, or vocational-technical education beyond high school.

Personal Computer Cartogram – Territory size shows the percentage of personal computers worldwide that are found there. This cartogram shows the technology available to individuals in each of the countries. Personal computers are computers that are designed to be used by a single individual. This includes lap top and desk top computers, work and home computers.

Gross Domestic Product (GDP) Cartogram – This cartogram shows international purchasing power - what someone’s money would be worth if he/she wanted to spend it in another territory.

Adult Literacy Cartogram – This cartogram shows the total number of citizens over 15 years old who are literate. Literacy is defined as is being able to read, write and understand a short and simple statement about one’s everyday life. This cartogram is based on TOTAL number not percentage of the population.

Infant Mortality Cartogram – This cartogram shows the percentage of infant deaths worldwide that occurred there in Infant deaths are deaths of babies during their first year of life.

The Wretched Dollar Cartogram – This cartogram shows the percentage of all people living on less than or equal to US$1 in purchasing power a day.

Total Births Cartogram – This cartogram shows the percentage of the world's total births for each territory.
