Your task: Draw and label a map of the world. 1. You may use nothing except your brains, markers, and one sheet of paper. 2. You must discuss ideas for at least five minutes before you draw. 3. Label as much as possible. 4. Do not yell. 5. Everyone in the GROUP must contribute. You are all smart people. One person may not do all the work. “Boss-hogs” and “Bossy-pants” are not welcome.

Define geography. Ge-, Geo- Earth, ground, soil -graphy writing a written representation In other words, literally, “to draw a picture of the earth.”

Define geography. 1. The study of the earth’s surface, the connections between places, and the relationships between people and their environments. 2. A field of study that considers the description and interaction of the diverse physical, biological, and cultural features of the earth. PHYSICAL GEOGRAPHY- having to do with the LAND. CULTURAL GEOGRAPHY- having to do with the PEOPLE.

Discuss with your group and give yourself a grade based on how you did. Could someone get from point A to point B using your map?
