Presentation transcript:

ATP( Adenosine Triphosphate) ADENINERIBOSE THREE PHOSPHATE GROUPS

When a cell has excess energy, it adds a phosphate group to ADP (Adenosine Diphosphate) to make ATP. When a cell needs energy, it breaks the bond that between the second and third phosphate groups of ATP, and energy is released. HOW IS ENERGY STORED IN ATP? Partially Charged Battery Fully Charged Battery ADP + PhosphateATP

NADPH - Nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide phosphate NADP is converted to NADPH when a hydrogen is added to it. Like ATP, NADPH also stores energy.
