ATP – ADP Cycle: 1. Last P bond breaks from ATP, releasing needed energy 1 2. ADP now exists (a weaker molecule), and a free P ATP ADP + Phosphate + energy 3. ADP / P are recycled. Energy 2 is used to reattach ADP to P, remaking ATP ADP + Phosphate + energy ATP Released energy 1 much greater than reattaching energy 2
