Final Term for “ Movies and English ” Gladys Hung Fall 2012

Final-term Paper  Due date: Jan. 29 (Tuesday)  Write a final-term paper on the selected movie. 1 to 2 pages, typed in A4 format written in English giving your review on the movie you have seen after the mid-term exam.

RATING (Rated R for sexuality, nudity, language and some violence) 5. THE YEAR of its release/year it came to video (2005) 6. RUNNING TIME (134 minutes long )

You may talk about if the actor / actress succeeds in revealing a character who seems dramatically believable.

Focusing on the theme of the movie, you are required to develop your unique observation and to analyze what major arguments or points of view about the original text is developed or proven in the adapted film.

Your comment on the selected film-adaptation  your paper should conclude by answering the question of whether or not this is a successful adaptation and if so (or not), why. How closely does the film adapt the novel ’ s elements: narrative (story [the events of the novel] and plot [the sequence of those events]), and point of view? Whether the director faithfully presents or artfully reinterprets the issues of the novel? →
