Year 10 Summer Project

Over the next two years you will be exploring different types of artwork and Art & Design disciplines. This will allow you to work and experiment with different techniques and materials. It will be important to be able to carry out independent research within your projects and this task will introduce you to some key Art Genres. Task 1 We would like you to research the following Art Genres and carry out research for each. Art Genres Cubism Three Dimension Art (Sculpture, Public Art, Installations, Ceramics) Photography (black and white, photo montage, photo series) Personal choice (you may choose any art style that you like, e.g Street art, Abstract, Illustration, Animation) Research should include; Collecting images of artwork Facts/ information Names of key Artists who work in that style Task 2 For each of the 4 topics, we would then like you to create a personal response in the genre style Cubism: A5 drawing in a cubist style Three Dimensional Art: A photograph of 3-D art in a real life context, for instance statues, sculptures in town, an interesting piece of ceramics Photography: Your own creative photograph which you could then edit with aps such as Instagram, collage, turn black and white, or manipulate by hand Personal choice- Relevant response to which ever art style you have chosen, e.g stencil, drawing, photograph You will need to think of a way to present your research ready for September (if you do not have access to a printer you could create a PowerPoint ready to print in September or use the Library in town)
