Composition Refining for your Final Piece
Presentation transcript:

Homework until 28 th April: EXAM DAYS!!!! In order of priority… Make sure you have two well developed final piece ideas towards the end of the project and it is clear which you are doing in the exam. Refine your composition and media so you are confident in the techniques and materials you plan to use in the exam. Use your project checklist as a guide and fill in gaps in your sketch book. Make sure the final piece ideas haven’t appeared by magic. Exam prep Make a list of all the equipment, media and reference images you will need and make sure you get hold of the non-standard stuff yourself. Write a step by step plan so you know your process. Consider what you need to pre-prepare to make the work run without gaps.

Final Piece Composition refining This week, you will complete your composition ideas part of AO3 as we are 2 weeks away from your GCSE Art exam. Based on the Final piece ideas you have developed in your book, you are going to complete 2 pencil tone drawings on one page that refine the image you have chosen for your final piece. I am looking for: 1. An imaginative choice that is based on either one or both of your previous final piece ideas. 2. Refining of the composition to make it an interesting and dynamic layout: Focal Point size. Rule of Thirds to arrange focal point(s). Use of diagonals to lead the viewer in. Comments with the images explaining how you have chosen to layout the image with good composition. A good quality pencil tone drawing with definition and attention to detail

GCSE Art Exam RULES Communicating with or distracting other students is strictly forbidden. The use of mobile phones or MP3 players is nationally banned. You may drink water. You must have your book in the room to be able to work from. You can get up to collect equipment and materials from the front. ALL work for this project MUST be handed in at the end on FRIDAY 29 rd for marking over the weekend. ADVICE Make sure you are working from your designs and getting detail from images you collected. Use a written plan to make sure you are doing things in the right order. Especially for 3D and mixed media pieces. If doing 3D or mixed media, What do you need to have pre-prepared beforehand? If using paper, draw a border on to make it look neater. Take time to draw out the image accurately. Do not rush. If you finish on the first day that is too soon! If you finish an hour or so before the end of the last day you are to work back into your sketch book.
