How to Make Peanut Blossom Cookies By Aubrey Hillman November English 393

Introduction Peanut butter cookies rolled in sugar with a Hershey’s kiss on top Purpose- to learn how to make peanut blossom cookies Anyone who has basic cooking knowledge can make these cookies  Must be over the age of 12  Anyone younger should be supervised

Materials 1 ¾ cups flour 1 teaspoon baking soda ½ teaspoon salt ½ cup butter ½ cup creamy peanut butter ½ cup brown sugar 1 cup sugar 1 egg 1 teaspoon vanilla Approximately 45 Hershey’s kisses

Equipment Mixer Oven Wax paper Cookie sheets Measuring cups

Safety Be careful around the oven Do not touch a hot cookie sheet with your hands! Wash your hands This recipe contains peanut butter  Do not consume if you have a peanut allergy

Process 1.Mix together flour, baking soda, and salt in a bowl

Process 2.Beat butter, peanut butter, brown sugar, and ½ cup sugar in another bowl Use a mixer Beat until texture is creamy

Process 3.Beat in egg and vanilla

Process 4.Beat in half of the flour mixture from step 1 Beat in the other half of the flour mixture from step 1

Process 5.Heat oven to 375°F 6.Put the remaining ½ cup sugar on wax paper

Process 7.Shape dough into 1 inch balls

Process 8.Roll the dough in the sugar and place on the cookie sheet Do not place the cookies too close together- they will spread out when baking

Process 9. Unwrap 1 chocolate kiss for every cookie

Process 10. Bake for 10 minutes Remove from oven and press a chocolate kiss into the top

Process 11.Bake for 2-4 more minutes until cookies are lightly browned
