Colin George 30 March 2016 Export Finance for SMEs

2 Efic We are a specialist financier that delivers simple and creative solutions for Australian companies – to enable them to win business, grow internationally and achieve export success.  Purpose is to support growth of Australian businesses exporting, operating internationally or involved in an export focused global supply chain  100% owned by the Government of Australia (AAA rating)  Operates on commercial principles but different risk profile to banks  Fills ‘market gap’ when commercial finance unavailable/insufficient  Role complementary to commercial lenders  Focus is the SME market

 Lack of security was the single most important reason why Australian exporters could not receive the funding they required 3 Access to export finance continues to be a challenge for SMEs
