What does the word ‘ 골동 ’ mean? Garnishes, or toppings, are put on top of Korean foods to make them look beautiful and delicious and to add more flavors. The word ‘ 골동 ’ means ‘mixing’.  ‘Goldongmyeon ’ is a type of noodles mixed with different toppings and soy sauce. green : cucumber, zucchini, or other green vegetables white white : egg whites black : wood ear, manna lichen, shiitake mushrooms, etc. yellow : egg yolk red : red peppers, jujube, carrots, etc. Goldongmyeon

1. Marinade the beef with water, sugar, stock powder, minced green onion, minced garlic, black pepper powder, and sesame oil,. 2. Slice the green-lentil jelly (0.7x0.7x5cm), onion (0.5x0.5x5cm), carrot (0.5x0.5x5cm), and lettuce (5cm). 3. Mix the enclosed sauce, soy sauce, and sesame oil to make a sauce. 4. Beat an egg and strain it. Oil a heated pan and cook the strained egg over low heat to make it like a very thin, flat pancake. 5. Boil the noodles for 4 min. Parboil the green-lentil jelly and carrot in the boiling water as you cook the noodles. ■ How to Cook Goldongmyeon

6. Rinse the noodles until they cool down. Then drain them and put them on a big dish. 7. Boil 250g water with the leftover stock powder to make side soup. 8. Stir-fry the marinade beef with the onion to make bulgogi. 9. Top the noodles with the bulgogi, green-lentil jelly, carrot, lettuce, and egg. Pour the sauce and enjoy! ■ How to Cook Goldongmyeon
