Introduction to EDU 673 Instructional Strategies for Differentiated Teaching & Learning By: Claudette Campbell January 28, 2014
Introduction Hello my name is Claudette Campbell and I live in Leland, MS with my two wonderful children Imani 11 and Quentin 9. I use to live in Elizabeth, MS about 2 miles from Leland. I moved from Elizabeth when I was a teenager with my parents in the early 90’s. Once I became an adult I moved to Denver, CO and stayed there for six years. I moved back to Leland, MS in 2003, and have been here every since. I like the South especially for raising my two kids in a slow pace environment. I have always wanted to be a teacher, but never pursued it until now. I would have individuals telling me all the time, that I should be a teacher, especially when I volunteered at the daycare my children use to attend. I had such a passion with the kids there and that is when I realized that I can actually be an effective teacher to students in my community. So, I am now on this journey of becoming a teacher in my specialization Early Childhood Education (MAED). When I attended school my K- 12 year I had a lot of teachers that really inspired me but, my favorite teacher was Mrs. Amos. She was so nice and sweet and always treated me like I was her daughter. She taught me a lot and when my daughter started school Mrs. Amos taught my daughter in the 3 rd grade. Mrs. Amos died the next year and that was a hard moment for me and my daughter. My least favorite teacher was Mrs. Smith because she was mean and always yelled at us. My favorite food I could eat all day long and even at dinner is….buttermilk and cornbread. I love to get my hot cornbread and put the buttermilk on it with some sugar and that is some good eating. I am a country girl who love me some buttermilk and cornbread. I look forward in learning the teaching and strategies in this class to prepare me for the educational world out there. So, I wish I wish everyone the best of luck in this class.
My Children I do have a passion to teach other students, but I also have this passion because of my children Imani and Quentin. I want to be able to effectively help them as an educator with their educational experience as well.
Buttermilk and Cornbread This is a picture of buttermilk and cornbread. I love this dish because the cornbread is hot and the buttermilk is cold and then it becomes warm once poured on the corn bread. Then I added a touch of sugar to give it that sweetness. It is really good.
The End I look forward to the learning experience in this class with the rest of my peers. Let us continue our journey into becoming effective teachers in this educational system and world.
