Chronological order Putting details in order of time

Chronological order Chronological order is the order of time.

Transition words We often use transition words to help our reader see the connections between details. In chronological order, we use words like these: First, second, third Before, during, after Next, last, finally Previously, meanwhile, subsequently Simultaneously, concurrently

Take the brainstormed details on the following slides and place those details in chronological order.

Writing a working plan is simple. Choose your organization and arrange the details in order. Brainstorm details about the topic. Look at the details and write a topic sentence that ties them together. Choose a topic.

Always be cautious when greeting a dog you don’t know. Hold out your hand for the dog to sniff. Ask the owner if the dog is friendly. Gently scratch the dog under the chin or behind the ears. Proceed to pet and play with the dog.

Successful students have a strict evening schedule. Eat dinner and do chores. Read for half an hour. Eat a quick snack of healthy brain food, like granola or carrots. Do your homework.
