Daniel’s Difficulty A young man Grew up in bad society Habakkuk 1:2-4 Now far from home and parents In a worse foreign culture Habakkuk 1:13 Surrounded by immorality Surrounded by false beliefs Many temptations to sin: compromise 1:5 Eat and drink like everyone else 1:5; 1 Pt. 4:1-5 Pressure to please others 1:10; Galatians 1:10

Daniel’s Determination He prayed 6:10 He resolved not to sin 1:5; Job 31:1 With his friends 1:12; 1 Cor. 15:33 Obtained favor of Ashpenaz 1:9 How from God?
