Cleaning your teeth Bacteria feed on food left on your teeth and make acid which corrode the teeth.

You can tell what an animal eats by its teeth

Carnivores are meat eaters They have large canines to hold and rip meat. All their teeth are sharp and pointed. Their bite is scissor- like and the teeth fit closely together.

Herbivores are plant eaters Herbivores like sheep have no upper incisors. They use their lower incisors to tear off bits of grass. They have no canines but a gap called a diastema to turn the grass around in their mouth so they can chew it from different angles. They have flat molars and premolars to grind up vegetation. They chew moving their jaw from side to side
