School Mission Statement The mission statement of Stony Brook Elementary in Perham, MN is to develop within students the appropriate skills, knowledge, technology, and understanding that enable them to be successful in the 21st century.

Overview of Proposal � Three carts of portable laptops for student and community use � Wireless Internet access on all laptops � Two projectors

Rationale For Proposal We are proposing this initiative to advance our community into the 21st century, regarding the future of technology and the importance of it in the world today.

Benefits to Students � Increase in Internet access � Increase in knowledge of technology � Students become independent learners � Helpful for multiple intelligence learning � Mobile computer lab � Teaches students life skills

Benefits to Teachers � Broader lesson plan options � Efficient use of class time � Teachers use multi-media for student engagement � Moves teachers into 21st century

Benefit to School District � Aids school district in becoming technology literate � Gives students future technology skills � Higher student enrollment � Could improve reading and math skills

Repair/Breakage/Loss � Students and Parents will sign contract stating students will lose their privilege if they aren’t using the equipment appropriately. � Parents and students are responsible for breakage.
