Ribosome and Endoplasmic Reticulum Part of the internal membrane system –Highway system of the cell Ribosomes attached for protein production (Rough) –Protein transported in a vessicle No ribosomes= smooth –used in lipid production and detoxification

Golgi Apparatus Packing and Distribution Accepts vesicles from ER Enzymes make final modifications to proteins Final product repackaged in a new vesicle –Vesicle may stay in the cell such as the LYSOSOME –Vesicle may move to the membrane and release its contents
