Let’s Look at More Animals. What has a hard shell and hides in his home when scared? Did you know… The bog turtle is the rarest reptile in the state. An alligator snapping turtle can grow up to 300 pounds!

Endangered Animals of the Coastal Plains Pocket gophers are very RARE in this region. It is near extinction. You’ll rarely see it above ground. You can find it in tunnels under the earth.
