As a long- time presenter and WordPress website builder, I am on the constant lookout for ways to help me Jump in and get going.

As in many tasks, I usually find that getting started is the hardest part. I usually dread the tedium of planning the site.

Proper planning involves doing keyword research, and then trying to organize content in tight themes around the keywords. It can be very confusing.

Way back in 2009, Google introduced a tool called the Wonder Wheel, which was designed to help users rapidly drill down in their keyword research several levels. It helped find those elusive long-tail, lower- competition keywords, as well as helped the knowledgeable researcher in structuring their content.

When used properly, the Wonder Wheel gave a big hint to content producers as to exactly what Google was looking for in organization of content. By providing this kind of structure, content producers were finding Google rewarded them with superior search engine placement.

Positive User Experience This method of organization also lead (most often) to a positive user experience as well. The technique of organizing one's content around keywords and keyword phrases became known as siloing the content.

Unfortunately, without warning or explanations of any kind, the Wonder Wheel completely vanished in 2011.

Users were, shall we say, perturbed and perplexed.

However, the Concept of Siloing the content was very much alive, and still encouraged by Google.

Many articles were written, which tried to explain the concepts of how to implement Content Silos. Honestly, unless you were a wizard or a programmer, these simply left the average user More confused and frustrated.
