ENVIRONMENTAL 2

WHICH ONE OF THE FOLLOWING IS A GOOD WORKING PRACTICE WHICH WOULD CONSERVE ENERGY AND PROTECT THE ENVIRONMENT? a)REDUCE TRANSPORTATION COSTS. b)BUY MATERIALS FROM THE CHEAPEST COUNTRY c)TRANSPORT MATERIALS BY AIR. d)USE LIGHTER MATERIALS.

WHICH ONE OF THE FOLLOWING SHOWS ENERGY CONSERVATION? SOURCING MATERIALS LOCALLY AND USING RENEWABLE SOURCES. USING RENEWABLE SOURCES AND LIGHTER MATERIALS. BUILDING GAS FIRED POWER STATIONS AND REDUCING MATERIAL COSTS. TRANSPORTING MATERIALS BY ROAD AND REDUCING TRANSPORTATION COSTS.

STATE WHETHER THE FOLLOWING STATEMENT IS TRUE OR FALSE. CUTTING AND SETTING OUT PIPE AND CABLE/TRUNKING RUNS ACCURATELY, IS A GOOD METHOD OF REDUCING MATERIAL WASTAGE “ CUTTING AND SETTING OUT PIPE AND CABLE/TRUNKING RUNS ACCURATELY, IS A GOOD METHOD OF REDUCING MATERIAL WASTAGE

STATE TWO METHODS FOR REDUCING MATERIAL WASTAGE TAKE CARE WHEN FIXING APPLIANCES, AS DAMAGED APPLIANCES NEED REPLACING REUSE OFF CUTS OF PIPE AND CABLE AVOID LEAVING PLUGS, SCREWS AND OTHER FIXINGS LYING AROUND AS THEY NEED REPLACING. MEASURE, CUT AND SET OUT PIPE AND CABLE/TRUNKING RUNS ACCURATELY. PLAN WORK JOB CAREFULLY.

STATE WHAT IS REQUIRED LEGALLY IN ORDER THAT A COMPANY VEHICLE MAY CARRY WASTE.

GALVANISED METAL TRUNKING AND LEAD ARE METALS THAT MAY BE RECYCLED. LIST THREE OTHER EXAMPLES OF METAL THAT MAY BE RECYCLED.

STATE ONE PIECE OF LEGISLATION REGARDING WASTE DISPOSAL. THE

STATE WHETHER EACH OF THE FOLLOWING IS HAZARDOUS, NON HAZARDOUS OR INERT. HAZARDOUS INERT WASTE IS WASTE WHICH IS NEITHER CHEMICALLY OR BIOLOGICALLY REACTIVE AND WILL NOT DECOMPOSE. EXAMPLES OF THIS ARE SAND, DRYWALL, AND CONCRETE. THIS HAS PARTICULAR RELEVANCE TO LANDFILLS AS INERT WASTE TYPICALLY REQUIRES LOWER DISPOSAL FEES THAN BIODEGRADABLE WASTE OR HAZARDOUS WASTEDRYWALLCONCRETE LANDFILLSBIODEGRADABLE WASTE HAZARDOUS WASTE AES ENVIRONMENTAL, LLC MANAGES A VARIETY OF NON-HAZARDOUS WASTES INCLUDING WATER-BASED INKS, PASTES AND GLUES, LATEX PAINTS, AND ADHESIVES. WE CAN MEET YOUR COMPANY NEEDS WHETHER IT’S FOR DIRECT LANDFILL, SOLIDIFICATION, OR FUELS. IN MANY CASES, AES MAY BLEND THESE WASTES WITH LITTLE OR NO FUEL VALUE INTO OUR “WASTE TO ENERGY” PROGRAM TO MEET THE CRITERIA FOR OUR ALTERNATIVE FUEL AND ENERGY RECOVERY OUTLETS. WE ALSO ACCEPT BOTH CONTAINERS AND BULK SHIPMENTS OF NON-HAZARDOUS LIQUIDS, SOLIDS AND SLUDGE FOR SOLIDIFICATION AND LANDFILL.

STATE THE REGULATION WHICH COVERS THE DISPOSAL OF MOTORS, FLUORESCENT TUBES AND PRINTED CIRCUIT BOARD WASTE ELECTRICAL AND ELECTRONIC EQUIPMENT REGULATION (WEEE)
