What tools do we use to measure? Measurement What tools do we use to measure?

Length We can measure how long something is with a ruler or measuring tape. We can measure using inches or centimeters.

Length Some things are small or short. Some things are tall or long.

Weight A scale is used to measure how heavy an object is. A balance compares weight of objects. We can weigh something using pounds and ounces.

Weight Some things are heavy. Some things are light.

Time Time can be measured on a clock. We can measure seconds, minutes, and hours.

Time Time can also be measured on a calendar. We can measure days, weeks, months, or years.

Temperature Temperature is measured with a thermometer. Temperature is measured in degrees. We can use Celsius or Fahrenheit.

Temperature Temperature can be hot. Temperature can be cold.
