History (Joe K.) Founded in New Netherlands (NY) was established in Peter Minuit buys Manhattan from Indians. Capital was New Amsterdam. Dutch colony. Turned over to English in New Amsterdam becomes New York.

History Continued (Joe K.) Dutch fought against English struggle in Dutch immigration, tension in the colony. 1664, New Jersey was assigned and tracked. Patroon families in 1703 owned 1.75 million acres in New York. 1750, patroon wealth grew. Map of New Amsterdam
