HQ PC Provisioning Initiative to consolidate personal computer provisioning and support as a Managed Service for all HQ Offices Fixed seat price, including computer and printing 4 PC Models: 2 Laptops (85%) & 2 Desktops (15%) 4 Year Refresh 3 Workgroup Printer Models (B&W, Color, MFP) Printing Includes all supplies except paper ,000 Users 18 Locations (48 buildings) across the nation 6-Jul-16EPA Confidential2

Why Consolidate? Reduce Cost Improve Service – Performance Requirements Enhance User Productivity Rapid Implementation of Environmentally Friendly Systems 6-Jul-16EPA Confidential3

RFP Environmental Stewardship Requirements Preference for EPEAT Products Energy Star Requirement for all Computers, Monitors & Printers Provide Sleep and Stand-By Capabilities Automatic Duplex Printing Capability Reuse/Recycle Supplies & Equipment At End-of-Life in Accordance with FEC and READ Goals & Requirements 6-Jul-16EPA Confidential4

Equipment All Dell PCs are Energy Star Compliant All Dell PCs Are EPEAT Rated Gold All HP Printers are Energy Star Compliant All HP Network Printers Automatically Duplex 6-Jul-16EPA Confidential5

PC Power Configurations All PCs have power save features enabled by standard, locked down configuration Hard Disks turn off after 15 min of non use (5 min if on battery) Monitors turn off after 15 min System goes to Standby after 30 min of non use (15 if on battery) System hibernates after an hour of non use if on battery 6-Jul-16EPA Confidential6

Printer Power Configuration All printers have 3 power levels: Active Ready Sleep All go to “ready” mode after printing and to “sleep” mode when not used for 30 to 240 min 6-Jul-16EPA Confidential7

Printer Supplies & Recycling Toner level is monitored for all printers, and a replacement ticket is automatically generated prior to no- toner message All printer cartridges are returned to the supplier in pre-paid mailing packages for recycling Packaging materials are separated with the cardboard and styrofoam separated and recycled at each location 6-Jul-16EPA Confidential8

Planned Enhancements EPA is currently piloting a PC management tool to support Power Management which will enable off-hour: Patch Management Software Distribution Virus scanning 6-Jul-16EPA Confidential9

PC Power Management Power management will enable us to: Enforce policy for daily PC Power Down Wake computers up as necessary to conduct patching, software deployments, and virus scahns at night or on weekends PCs in off mode over night and through the weekends will produce significant reduction in electricity use User productivity will be enhanced with maintenance functions completed in non-operational times 6-Jul-16EPA Confidential10
