The theme of loyalty is shown in Antigone when Antigone chooses to break the law set by Creon and decides to bury her brother. Although Polyneices is considered a traitor, she tells her sister Ismene, "But I will bury him; and if I must die, I say that this crime is holy." Antigone's loyalty to her beloved brother is stronger than her fear of punishment. Loyalty to her family, specifically to her brother, was more important than the law. So now YOU try!
