All rights reserved. 3 of 9 Health and safety Any hazards in the area There may be few hazards in a simple installation and many in a larger project, where other workers are involved or where work takes places outside. Any risks associated with the materials being used None of the materials you are using are toxic under normal conditions. However, you need to be aware of what materials are being used by others around you.

All rights reserved. 4 of 9 Health and safety Any other hazards involved in the work process Sockets are normally installed at low level but you may occasionally need to install them at ceiling height Lighting fittings are often mounted at height. Given the time taken to install a fitting a tower is a good option. Make sure you know how to use the access equipment safely.

All rights reserved. 6 of 9 Health and safety Minimising risks It should be remembered that the Hazards should be reduced as much as possible This can be done by removing the hazard (fill the hole in, put barriers up) Alternatively, protective clothing can be worn. The risk involved in the tasks being undertaken here are relatively low but risks could be introduced by not paying attention or by playing around.
