5 PR3: IMPROVE RESEARCH ADMINISTRATION  Aim: To evolve research policy and procedures leading to a more efficient, non-bureaucratic and transparent research-support system with equal opportunities and less overhead budget.

6 PR4: IMPROVE THE ORGANIZATIONAL STRUCTURE OF KFUPM RESEARCH  Aim: To propose an efficient and conducive research organizational structure of research by assessing the existing KFUPM practice.

7 PR5: DEVELOP STRATEGIC ALLIANCES WITH NATIONAL, REGIONAL, AND INTERNATIONAL INSTITUTIONS  Aim: To develop, enhance and maintain efficient, timely and sustainable cooperation/collaboration partnership with national, regional and international research groups (external institutions) on issues of mutual interest that would ensure innovative solutions for engineering, technology and scientific problems based on the core- strengths of member institutions.

8 PR6: DEVELOP STRATEGIC ALLIANCES WITH INDUSTRY  Aim: Define research directions for KFUPM to serve industry needs by identifying priority research areas and establishing collaborations with industry.
