Sony Executive Summary Ghost Rider 30 th January 2007

Page 2 GHOST RIDER - UK Opening in 5 weeks  A positive start for Ghost Rider in the UK, with a notable male skew. Awareness is good overall, and there is strength on definite interest & 1 st choice among men. The encouraging picture is confirmed in comparison to all comp titles.  Total awareness is significantly above norm across all audiences.  Males under 25 lead the way at double norm. Awareness in three quadrants broadly reaches that level, with only women under 25 falling notably short - and still above norm.  Unaided awareness is at the minimal norm level for this stage.  Total awareness is good against all comparative titles at this stage, matching HELLBOY and leading all other comps. It also leads all other fellow openers this week.  There is little to choose against the comp titles on unaided.  Definite interest among aware is heavily male skewed, with men of all ages very comfortably above norm (39% vs 24%) while women fall slightly short of the mark, most notably under 25s.  Overall, definite interest among aware is much in line with the comp titles, with only NATIONAL TREASURE falling notably below the others. (Limited aware bases for many comps restricts comparisons by quadrant).  1 st choice is broadly at norm level, driven by men at double the small norm, while 1 st choice among women is minimal.  1 st choice is equal to or marginally above all comp titles, across all quadrants - other than falling very marginally behind HELLBOY among women under 25.  It leads both fellow openers on choice among men, but no title registers any strength among women at this stage. Page 3 GHOST RIDER - FRANCE Opening in 4 weeks  Awareness for Ghost Rider is reaching norm level four weeks out from release, with definite interest and 1 st choice at norm. In a very competitive week, in terms of the number of wide releases, no title yet shows any notable advantage. The picture is much the same as for V For Vendetta.  Total awareness stands at norm level, with a marginal shirt over the past 7 days. Males stand at norm with women falling short, slightly below norm.  Unaided awareness is minimal.  Total awareness is much the same as V for Vendetta at the same stage – it falls slightly short among women under 25 but leads among men 25+. There is nothing to choose on unaided awareness with both minimal.  Of the competitive openers this week only BARNYARD exceeds norm awareness with SCORPION reaching the mark among over 25s.  Definite interest among aware stands at norm level overall. It looks to have an over 25 skew but given the limited aware bases, this should be treated with caution.  Definite interest is much the same as for V For VENDETTA overall. Limited aware bases make comparisons by quadrant unreliable.  1 st choice stands at norm level overall, lead by men under 25 at just above that mark.  Choice is very marginally above V For Vendetta, with that difference most notable among men under 25.  1 st choice is very flat across all the week’s releases, with no title showing any notable strength or advantage. Ghost Rider currently holds a very marginal edge among men under 25.  V FOR VENDETTA is the only one of the comp titles available in France, since tracking only started in late Click here for history & demographic charts

Page 4 GHOST RIDER - GERMANY Opening in 4 weeks  Awareness for Ghost Rider stands clearly ahead of norm, allied with definite interest among those aware slightly above norm level, lead by under 25 males. There is no significant strength on 1 st choice at this stage, although it is at norm level and much the same as the comps. The picture is similar to all comp titles in general, with awareness wider at this point.  Total awareness has grown slightly this week, now clearly ahead of norm, and reasonably balanced, across all quadrants - with women 25+ actually marginally leading the way at double norm.  It is ahead of all comp titles at a similar stage.  Unaided awareness is minimal as with all comps.  All 3 fellow openers this week currently register minimal single figure total awareness.  Definite interest among aware stands fractionally above norm, lead by men under 25 at some 1½x norm level, while falling short of norm among women of that age.  Interest also shows some notable strength at this stage among women 25+  Definite interest looks broadly similar to the comp titles - National Treasure stands notably higher, but off a significantly lower aware base. Comp title aware bases are too low to allow reliable comparison by quadrant.  1 st choice stands at the small norm level, with little variation by quadrant - although women under 25 look very tentatively short of the other 3.  Choice is very similar to all comps.  None of the titles opening this week currently show any significant advantage on 1 st choice. Click here for history & demographic charts

Page 5 GHOST RIDER - AUSTRALIA Opening in 3 weeks  Ghost Rider looks to be in an encouraging position with 3 weeks to release, among male audiences in particular. It compares well with all comp titles and, among men, is currently dominating the week’s competitive releases.  Total awareness shows a slight upward trend over the past two weeks, standing above norm across all audiences, with males marginally ahead. Unaided awareness is at norm.  Total awareness is distinctly ahead of all comp titles bar one - HELLBOY stood at a similar level overall, driven by substantially wider awareness among males under 25. RIDDICK was also at a similar level to GHOST RIDER among that audience.  Among fellow openers the same week, Ghost Rider has at least twice the awareness of either competitor overall, although there is little to choose in comparison to GOOD SHEPHERD among women over 25.  Definite interest among aware stands just above norm overall, with a very strong male skew. Men of all ages are comfortably ahead of the norm mark while women fall fractionally short.  Interest among aware compares well with the comps – although it falls behind both RIDDICK & NATIONAL TREASURE at the same stage, they were off aware bases no more than half the size, so in real numbers, more people are interested in Ghost Rider. (Only among men under 25 does Riddick look to have a slight advantage in real terms with 35% aware & 52% def int vs. Ghost Rider 39% & 38%).  1 st choice stands just ahead of the norm, driven heavily by men at 2 to 3x norm while women just reach that norm mark.  Choice compares well with all comps, with no title scoring higher overall at this stage.  Ghost Rider distinctly leads the week’s competitive releases among men. Click here for history & demographic charts

Page 6 GHOST RIDER - JAPAN Opening in 5 weeks  Low awareness is the main story 5 weeks out from release, although this is much the same picture as for all the comparative titles. Local movie ONE PIECE…currently looks dominant among the week’s releases, especially among men under 25 – with particularly strong awareness and choice.  5 weeks from release, total awareness is short of the norm mark. There is a slight 25+ skew, but still at below norm.  Awareness among under 25s is in low single figures.  Unaided awareness is yet to register.  The picture is much the same as for all comp titles at this stage, with only NATIONAL TREASURE & CONSTANTINE recording very marginally wider awareness.  Among the week’s openers, the two Japanese movies are currently dominant on awareness, most notably ONE PIECE…  Awareness is too low to look at definite interest among aware but early on it appears males 25+ will emerge as supporters of this title.  Given the low aware bases for all, any comparison with other comp titles is also unreliable at this stage, although Ghost Rider currently does look distinctly short of the others.  1 st choice is predictably minimal given the low awareness, but much the same as for all comps.  CONSTANTINE did register slightly stronger 1 st choice at the same stage among over 25s, but the difference is marginal.  GEKIJOUBAN… leads the week’s releases on choice, driven by under 25s & very heavily men of that age. No title yet records any advantage among women. Click here for history & demographic charts
