Project Description & Intended Use Project Description –The Illusion of Life Book –Disney influence on film and animation –Frank Thomas and Ollie Johnston Intended Use –Presentation of content is limited by the book’s two- dimensional linear narrative –Animation itself is the illusion of movement –Interactive multimedia representation of the work done by Thomas and Johnston will more effectively explain the principles of Disney cel animation

User Profile Animation and film students –Beginners –Professionals Art and design students –Animation is an art form –Animation can be used to enhance design Animation fans

Deliverables An interactive multimedia presentation of Chapter 3 of The Illusion of Life: Disney Animation will be created using Macromedia Flash MX Linear and non-linear navigation Navigation designed to easily add content. Scrolling text from book. Interface uses images from book. Drawn animations available as static drawings or playable animations. Animation playback speed will be controllable by the user. Clips of Disney animated movies that demonstrate particular principles of animation available where appropriate Sound and animation will be used to enhance the navigation experience and provide feedback to the user. An animated introductory “splash” screen will be created.
