JAXA’s Data Flow Concept JAXA/EOC ALOS DRTS Ka-band Data nodes Physical Media (DTF-2) Zoned L0 data delivery ALOS L0 data will be processed and archived 240 Mbps Data Nodes Distribute the L0, L1 and higher data to the customers Archive the L0 data for at least 5 years Generate and archive the L1 data Direct reception for near-real-time (NRT) access 3

Don AtwoodNaval Postgraduate School Workshop – 9 August4 Status Status of ALOS -- Overall very good. Satellite systems are healthy and operating properly. Enough fuel on board to support over 5 year mission life. Sensors performing well. Processors -- JAXA processors continue to be fine tuned to provide better radiometry and geolocation. Results have improved steadily from launch. ASF Downlinking -- Downlink system is performing well and test downlinks of AVNIR-2 and PALSAR have been completed. In final stages of validation of ASF L0 products with JAXA. Should be complete by end of November.

Don AtwoodNaval Postgraduate School Workshop – 9 August6 U.S. Government Research Consortium PALSAR Access for DAAC U.S. Government Research Consortium formed –Share costs and share data; win/win for the government NASA, NSF, and USGS researchers also require ALOS data –Interagency agreement Defines method and amount of fund transfer between agencies Modified existing NASA DAAC contract with ASF –Allow for use of DAAC resources to do limited, defined work on ALOS PALSAR –Add ALOS PALSAR to mission support list Created new interface for ALOS PALSAR DAAC data access
