What do you want to know? Parts of your computer Ergonomics Your desktop Parts of a Window Hanging Wallpaper The Control Panel Window to the Web Web Browsers Just Google It! Finding the Download folder (Windows 7) Make a folder Downloading pictures from a digital camera Sending a picture through how-to Facebook tips & tricks Creating a Word document, shortcuts, & icons REVIEW

If you download something from Firefox or Internet Explorer, it sometimes is hard to find. Check your download folder: 1. Click on the folder icon in the Taskbar (mine is by my flag on the bottom left of the desktop screen). 2. Click on the word Downloads on the left of the box that pops up:

3. Now you can open your document by double clicking on it! Tip: If you want to move it to the Desktop, click and drag! If you have an older version of Windows, double click on your My Computer icon (on the desktop) and see if there is a Downloads file.

Another way would be to click on the flag on the bottom left of the desktop. Then click on Documents: Click on Downloads:

1.RIGHT click your desktop 2.Left click New

LEFT click on Folder. When this appears, tap your Backspace key on your keyboard. Type in the desired name for your folder and tap the Enter key on your keyboard. Double click on the folder to open it.

If this folder opens and covers more than half of your screen, you can minimize it and/or hover your mouse over the edge until you see a double sided arrow. Click and drag it to make it smaller.

SD card is bought separately and gives you more picture taking memory. Now most cameras automatically upload software the first time you plug it into your computer. I would create a file for your pictures on your Desktop first before downloading.

Now plug in your digital camera (the cord should come with your camera). ….And wait…. Some things that may happen include software upload/update, camera will turn on, a folder will appear, etc. Click on import pictures and videos….

Now you have to select your file. My picture folder is on my Desktop. So I click the work Desktop. Then I scroll down until I see my folder. Click on your folder. Click on Open/Save.

Type in the name of the photo. Hit the Enter key on your keyboard when you are done. Once you have your pictures in your photo folder you can rename them. RIGHT click the photo file then LEFT click Rename.

Now right click the USB plug. “Safely Remove… message will appear. When you are done transferring and renaming your photos close both folders by clicking on the X on the top right of each box. Click on the tiny triangle on the task bar. LEFT click on Eject.

If you cannot find it on your desktop, open the Start Menu. Double left click on the icon on your Desktop. Click on All Programs.

Click on Microsoft Word. Click on Microsoft Office.

Click on the blue File tab. By doing this, Microsoft Office will automatically save your document every 3-5 minutes.

Click on Save As

2. Start typing a name for your document. Basic Computers Brimley notes Now find the folder you just made (or save it to the Desktop). 1. Click on Desktop.

Once you have found your folder click on it (one left click). Click on the Open button. Now click on the Save button.

Your document now has a new name.

Notice the blinking cursor. This tells you where you are in the document. You can move it with the arrow keys or clicking with your mouse.
