Welcome to Nursing 479 This is a two credit hour course that focuses on the knowledge and skills that BSN nurses need to function as a leader and manager in today’s healthcare environment. This is a hybrid class. The content will be delivered online. However, the exams will be face to face.

©2000 Southeastern Louisiana University Course Delivery There are three units of study (see course schedule and syllabus). There are PowerPoint lectures posted on Moodle for each weekly readings. Exam questions will come from all of these areas. There is a lot of material! Don’t wait until right before the test to begin studying.

©2000 Southeastern Louisiana University Course Assignments A group presentation on Quality Improvement worth 20%. A group Patient Satisfaction assignment worth 20%. Two in person unit exams worth 20% each (Total 40%) – Please review course schedules for dates. One individual assignment (Escape Fire Movie Activity) worth 20%

©2000 Southeastern Louisiana University Patient Satisfaction Assignment This is a group project. You will work with your clinical group to complete the assignment. Conduct a thorough review of the literature Need five references; only one can be a textbook Assignment should indicate evidence of support from the literature Paper should be professionally written and in proper APA format (title page, references, etc) Try to limit direct quotes! One group member submits the assignment via assignment link. File name should contain at least one group member’s last name.

Escape Fire Movie Activity Individual assignment Must rent the movie, “Escape Fire,” to complete the assignment.
