6 Adaptation - Common issues Training material Neutral with respect project logos, for module interoperability Clear identification of the Author Optional : Author organisation logo Optional : sources, even redundant with the metadata (see Roderic – Training Platform functioning) D5. Adaptation Plan In the template to rename the paragraph “translation” with “Adaptation to the National Italian context/translation” Metadata Assessment after the adaptation Plan Italian version of the Metadata with indication of possible additional component(s)

Module 15 “Nature Conservation&Natura2000”

Adaptation Plan 1. Lecture 1 – references to Humboldt and INSPIRE reference model to be removed 2. Lecture 2 – Real examples requested, not just principles 3. Lecture 3 – Update with material from IGN workshop 4. Exercises – change to HALE and record the solutions 5. Integration of Leuven and Novogit material Module 1: Data Harmonization (English version) Status of revision 1-5 Still remains Plan for completion: October or November 2014, depends on IMPULS priorities

Adaptation Plan 1. Lecture 3 – deals with specification of data quality. Should be updated with real examples 2. Exercise 1– is based on VBA programming. Should be changed to excel calculations. Should also be recorded. 3. All lectures must be updated with ISO and Module 2: Data Quality (English version) Status of revision 1-3 Still remains Plan for completion: October or November 2014, depends on IMPULS priorities

Adaptation Plan 1. Change of XML editor into open source product 2. Recording of 10 exercises 3. Examples in lecture 2 should be changed into INSPIRE schemas 4. Alternatives to Snowflake GML viewer should be investigated Module 6: Basic concepts of XML and GML (English version) Status of revision 1.Done (XML Copy Editor) 2.Done for first 5 exercises 3.Still remains 4.No good alternatives found so far Plan for completion: September 2014

11 LINKVIT Progress Meeting - 9th -10th September 2014 Module N7 - European Geospatial Portals as SDI User Interfaces Status of revision Copies of relevant documents/background material available Presentation with audio is missing 1 Assignment and 2 Exercises available self-test/quiz is missing (using a standardised template within Moodle?) harmonization: uniform notation based on adaption plan in progress Plan for completion: 30 th October 2014 Adaptation Plan No revision required

12 LINKVIT Progress Meeting - 9th -10th September 2014 Module N11 - Procedures for Data and Metadata Harmonization Adaptation Plan Present English version of the module updated with the current INSPIRE relevant legislation and documentation Therefore no need of any update for the intended audience However, in order to further support the Italian users of this module to understand also the principles of metadata harmonization according to the relevant Italian legislation, the Italian version of this module should be integrated with few slides presenting the Italian national specifications about metadata (which extend the INSPIRE ones with additional ISO19115 elements).

13 LINKVIT Progress Meeting - 9th -10th September 2014 Module N11 - Procedures for Data and Metadata Harmonization Status of revision Additional slides presenting the Italian national specifications about metadata (which extend the INSPIRE ones with additional ISO19115 elements) under finalization. Translation in Italian not started yet. Plan for completion: By

14 LINKVIT Progress Meeting - 9th -10th September 2014 Module N13 - Metadata and Data validation for INSPIRE Adaptation Plan Present English version of the module updated with the current INSPIRE relevant legislation and documentation Therefore no need of any update for the intended audience However, in order to further support the Italian users of this module to create and validate metadata also according to the relevant Italian legislation, the Italian version of this module should be integrated with few slides presenting a relevant example.

15 LINKVIT Progress Meeting - 9th -10th September 2014 Module N13 - Metadata and Data validation for INSPIRE Status of revision Additional slides presenting the example of creation and validation of metadata according to the relevant Italian legislation under finalization. Translation in Italian not started yet. Plan for completion: By

16 LINKVIT Progress Meeting - 9th -10th September 2014 Adaptation Plan No revision required Module N14 - Metadata and Catalogue Services Status of revision Copies of relevant documents/background material available Presentation with audio is missing Intro video available Assignment available self-test/quiz is missing (using a standardised template within Moodle?) harmonization: uniform notation based on adaption plan in progress Plan for completion: 30 th October 2014

Status of revision It is now running the updating. Right now, all the components and their ppt summaries have been reviewed and updated to the current situation. Module N15 “Nature Conservation&Natura2000 Network” Adaptation Plan Updating of the contents according to the new legislations. Updating of links, images and references. Plan for completion Mid September 2014

Status of revision Translation into Italian of the of the Power Point summarizing the textual training contents (starting soon) New component dealing with the Natura 2000 implementation (starting soon) Module N15 “Nature Conservation&Natura2000 Network” (Italian Version) Adaptation Plan Translation into Italian of the metadata Translation into Italian of the ppt summarizing the textual training Inclusion of a new component dealing with Italian implementation of N2000 Plan for completion Mid October 2014

19 New component in the module “Nature Conservation” added, but described only in the Italian version of the metadata, dealing with the following topics: Adaptation Plan for the Module on Nature Conservation Adaptation to the Italian context: the state-of-the-art on NATURA 2000 Italian implementation Biogeographical Regions in Italy - Guidelines for habitats interpretation The Natura 2000 Network in the Italian legislation Birds Directive in Italy and the amendment of 2009 Habitat Directive in Italy - monitoring of the conservation status SCI and SPA: procedures for definition and their approval and responsibilities at Italian level Database of SCI, SPA and SAC in Italy. The Standard Data Form Assessment of implications in Italy and compensation measures

Status of revision The updating of this module relates with a full revision of all the training material according to the DS of Annex III (that were not yet available when the module was prepared) and to the new version of DS for Annex I. Moreover, the module will be "simplified" in order to consider only what is important in data and metadata modelling activities. Currently, only the component on Species Distribution is ready for revision. Module N16 “Nature Conservation in INSPIRE” Adaptation Plan Updating of the contents to the new DS of INSPIRE (in particular the Annex III) Simplification of the training material Plan for completion End September 2014

Status of revision Translation into Italian of the metadata (starting soon) Translation of the ppt summarizing the components (starting as soon as the revision of texts is done) Module N16 “Nature Conservation in INSPIRE” (Italian version) Adaptation Plan Translation into Italian of the metadata Translation into Italian of the ppt summarizing the textual training Plan for Completion Mid October 2015
