School of Electronic Engineering Choosing Your Modules See the ‘Programme Planner’ for 2013/14 Semester 1/2 (next slide). IMPORTANT NOTES: Electronic Systems students can choose ANY 8 modules. Telecoms students MUST take at least 6 modules from the ‘telecoms’ module set plus ANY other 2 modules See for module descriptions and criteria for Majors.

School of Electronic Engineering Student Pitfalls According to DCU Regulations: 1)The four year rule - The maximum time a student may spend on a Masters Programme is 4 years - This includes Qualifier years and deferred years due to work or illness-related issues 2)The one session repeat rule - A module may be attempted for a maximum of 2 years 3)There are three different Continuous Assessment categories 1 - resit is available for all components of the module 2 - no resit is available for a 100% CA module 3:- no resit is available for the CA component only

School of Electronic Engineering Deferrals and Absences To defer an entire academic year, complete a ‘Deferral of Academic Year’ (R-32) form Unexplained absences from exams result in a FAILED ATTEMPT.
