Objective  SWBAT identify theme in “The Lottery” and write about it in an APEE paragraph  Communicators

Theme  Theme topic + Lesson about the theme topic + evidence = Theme  Theme topic= a ONE WORD idea that sums up the entire story  Lesson you learn about the theme topic is MORE THAN ONE WORD  Evidence is a QUOTE or SCENE from the text

THEME CONT.  THEME IS NOT ONE WORD  THEME HAS TO APPLY TO ANYONE, so don’t mention characters, titles, or specific details about the story.
