Use your iPads to look into your given news programme and answer the following questions. Make notes on each question in your books, I will be asking for feedback from all of you ! 1s - What channel is your news programme broadcasted on (and any other information)? 2s and 3s - What kind of news stories are being reported? Provide some textual evidence. 4s and 5s - Based on the GENRE and AUDIENCE of your news programme, can you make and predictions about the PURPOSE and STYLE? Easy to differentiate Online element meant that students were looking at current and relevant media. Enables young people to engage with the news! Students really enjoyed discussing current affairs (this was really nice to see!).
