Newspaper Time Capsule PROJECT

Welcome to The Newspaper Business You and your partner are the editors of a newspaper—just not from this decade. The date of the newspaper you will create is December 31, of the year you choose. Articles should cover major events throughout that year. It must be a minimum of 10 years in the past.

Hard Copy and Online Newspaper This should be done in Microsoft Word or publisher, The newspaper should include the following sections: Local News, World News, Sports (local or national), Weather, Entertainment and Advertisements. Don’t for get to name the paper.

The Requirements World News—4 articles, 250 words each (20pts) Sports—2 articles, 250 words each (10pts) Local News—4 articles, 250 words each(20pts) Weather—1 article, 250 words, and a 7 day forecasts (10Pts) Entertainment—2 articles, 250 words each (10PTs) Cover Story (Front Page)—500 words(10 PTS) Each story must include 1 picture (10PTs) 5 advertisements from that time period throughout the newspaper/website(10PTS)

Document Sources Note: Works Cited—you must provide the link where you found information Post the link at the bottom of each article If you used more than one source, make sure to copy and paste all the links

Where To Start 1: Choose where the newspaper is located and year published: Example—New York, New York : Divide up the work: Example—Joe responsible for: Website creation, World News, Sports, Local News: Jane: Hard Copy (Word), Weather, Entertainment, Cover story, Advertisements 3: Print the hard copy, staple the newspaper together, turn in to your teacher.
