Seat Belts Everyone in a car is required to wear a seat belt. Drivers are responsible for making sure all passengers 17 and under are belted in. Penalties A driver can be fined up to $25 per violation, and up to $50 per traffic stop.
Child Car Seat Laws All children under six need to be in a car seat. Conditions: Children under the age of one or weighing less than 20 lbs must be in a rear-facing seat.

Penalties for Texting and Driving $100 fine for 1 st offense $200 fine for 2 nd offense within 10 years. $300 fine and two-point drivers’ record penalty for third ticket.
