Batch/Multiple-Dominos Pizza When I used to work for Domino’s, the setup was much different each day and time based on the high volume of orders received. The batch sizes would change and would be more significant around dinner time. Obviously more employees were scheduled at this time along with more drivers to meet the demand so the company would not fall behind with orders.

Assembly Line The assembly line was created so that employees could concentrate on one particular task with each pizza and allow for operations to run much smoother. The fact that this was setup at different station such as dough, sauce, cheese, toppings and oven made it easy to get pizzas into the oven quicker and out the door. This obviously only took place with the correct number of employees and when orders were coming in at a heavy volume. This would also include the continuous flow approach as well.

Evaluating Product and Market Along with becoming one of the biggest pizza chains in the country. Domino’s is continuing to try and stay one step above the rest by dipping into the online app world. Domino’s now is successfully transitioning so much to online that less calls are coming into the store because the app is so easy to access and place your order. It is important to create this route for people who just don’t want to speak with an employee or just easier to place your order this way. Domino’s will continue to thrive as they make improvements on their app and to make ordering pizza as easy as pie.
