OUTLINE Great Gatsby: background information Gatsby’s feelings: Love or longing? Conclusion: can be the past relieved?

Great Gatsby: background information Scott Fitzgerald’s The Great Gatsby  1925 Boom in the economy of United States. Lack of spirituality and morality.

Gatsby’s feelings: love or longing?  He feels nostalgic  He wants to recover the past, not Daisy. “He is longing. He is obsessed with the green light, which represents the past. He lives for recapturing the moments of the past”( 25).

Conclusion: can be the past relieved? Even you are not going to achieve your dream, it is worth to have one since having dreams give you life.
