Residency Relocation Fourth year medical students may find it necessary to borrow additional loans for residency relocation and travel expenses. Residency Relocation loans are available to fourth year medical students to borrow 180 days before or up to 180 days after graduation and do not have to be certified by the financial aid office. Are private loans, not federal student loans Many different loan programs and options to choose Pay close attention to the terms of each loans

Residency Relocation Evaluate – Interest rate – Maximum loan amount – Processing time – Disbursement dates – Length of loan repayment – Terms and conditions of the loan

Residency Relocation Some questions to ask – How is the interest rate calculated? – Is it a fixed or variable rate loan? – When does repayment start? – Are deferment and forbearance options offered?
